| Urban Age is a magazine currently published by the World Bank with support
from a number of bilateral donors. It has a subscriber base of 40,000 urban
decision-makers around the world and publishes in all of the world's major
languages. Both Urban Age and the City Solutions Network are seeking to serve decision-makers with an emphasis on those in developing and transitional economies. Urban Age has a loyal readership, and City Solutions Network has a range of information and tools of value to them, as well as a database of global suppliers of useful analysis, case studies, databases, etc. Both give priority to public policy purposes and to sustainable urban development in their content and approach to issues. Urban Age seeks to organize useful information into short articles likely to be read by city executives. It forms a logical way of pulling along readers searching through the more comprehensive offerings of the City Solutions Network. Neither endeavour is commercially driven nor will either be reliant on advertising of individual companies with products or services to sell to cities. Both Urban Age and the City Solutions Network recognize that the primary method by which urban decision-makers learn is currently not the Internet, but personal contacts with peers from other cities and countries, with urban experts, and with interest groups and community representatives in their own cities. Both seek to rely on training and capacity-building as anchors for transmitting information and building knowledge.
